Lady

$75.00

“Lady” was born out of a need to capture the wild nature of a wolf on canvas. There is something about the intensity of a wolf’s eyes that is fascinating to me, so I took a shot at creating my first animal subject on paper. The name “Lady” came from the show Game of Thrones as it was the name of Sansa’s dire wolf. Her characters’ evolution to me was one that represented what I was looking to capture- something beautiful on the surface but dangerous underneath.

The background is an earthy hooker green, applied with palette knife to convey the wild nature of the wilderness. From there I used golden metallic paint to accentuate the eyes and create a border to make the subject pop.

This is one in my series of “paint sketches” available for $50 and complete with a black frame.
